By “preparing for the worst” people automatically close parts of themselves up to avoid being hurt. It’s understandable to want to be protected, but I want to have honest relationships with people, so I can’t let fear of being abandoned or heartbroken or left alone hold be back from being vulnerable.
And the real deal is, almost everyone “prepares for the worst,” that’s why it’s so hard to be in completely honest relationships; everyone has baggage from someone who left them behind or alone. We’ve built so many walls with each other that no one knows how it feels to be honest.
I wish we could break down the walls.

Always always always always. I meet people like that all the time and it breaks my heart, because I never know how to put in words what I feel, to make them understand why this is not the right way.via
